ANNEKA AND ELLIOT’S MANOR HOUSE WEDDING BY THE SEA
Place Estate Wedding Photographer
Anneka and Elliott’s wedding at Place Estate was one of those days with such a big buzz around it that just kept getting better. Fun, full of energy, and set in one of the most iconic spots in Cornwall! Honestly it is absolutely gorgeous!
Place Estate (Place House) is somewhere I’ve wanted to photograph a wedding at for ages. It’s right on the coast path, with views that just don’t stop. I’ve always heard so much good stuff about it and have always seen it, but every time a couple asked about it, I was already booked. Always the way isn’t it!! So when Anneka and Elliott’s date came in and I was free, I was genuinely buzzing, and it absolutely lived up to it!!
The morning started at Place House with Anneka getting ready with her bridesmaids. Hair and makeup had been going since early, and by the time I arrived there was a really good buzz in the room. Dresses hanging up, people coming in and out, and Anneka right in the middle of it all, calm but clearly excited. The ceremony took place in the chapel at Place. They got their friends Amy and Jim to do the ceremony for them. It always makes it feel really personal when friends do the ceremony for them – I absolutely love it! It gives it such a relaxed, informal feel that I just love. It’s all about the love and none of the formalities, which is what I love about weddings.
After the ceremony, everyone headed straight outside for confetti. The light, the setting, the noise, it was such a good moment and one of the longest confetti lines this year I think! Then we took a few photos of just Anneka and Elliott before moving across the lawn to the marquee for the drinks reception. The whole afternoon had such a great feel to it next to the marquee, down by the waterside. People chatting, drinks flowing, and the gorgeous backdrop there in the background, doing what it does best. Anneka and Elliott didn’t want loads of group photos, just a handful of the important ones, which kept everything really easy and relaxed.
Speeches kicked off in the marquee before food and they were brilliant. Roy, Elliott and Rich all smashed it. Funny, warm, and full of stories that clearly meant a lot to everyone there. Lots of laughing, a few emotional moments, and a really good atmosphere around the tables. As the evening rolled in, the band set up and the party properly started. First dance at 8pm, straight into a packed and properly wild dance floor, and then the DJ took over to keep things going. Followed by the ultimate Pizza van in the eve before more partying!
Then came the fireworks!!! Everyone headed outside and the sky lit up over Place. With the coast right there and the marquee glowing behind everyone, it was such a strong way to finish the day. Anneka and Elliott’s wedding was fun from start to finish. Great people, an incredible location, and a day that never took itself too seriously. And finally getting to photograph a wedding at Place Estate made it even better. Anneka and Elliott, thank you so much for having me along. What a place to get married, and what a day to be part of!!!
