Wanna talk weddings with me?
I’ve always really wanted to shoot a wedding on the Isles of Scilly, having seen various other photographers shoot there before, it was something I really wanted to do. So was feeling extremely happy and blessed when I was asked to be able to shoot two there in two weeks which is pretty crazy in itself anyway! I hadn’t been to the Scilly’s since I was a kid, so it was amazing to go back and suprising just how much I could remember!
I’d spoken to Owen and Rebecca quite extensively before there wedding, but had never managed to meet them, so was fantastic when they met me off the ferry the day before to see just how lovely they were in person. We had a quick look around the venues themselves, Star Castle for the wedding ceremony itself and Juliets Garden for their reception. You really couldn’t couldn’t ask for much more perfect wedding photographer venues if I am being honest!
The Isles of Scilly is a wedding photographers dream, it is so picturesque you can’t take a bad frame, and it really didn’t dissapoint on the day. Extremely hot and only a few of the fluffiest clouds in the blue sky, completely perfect conditions. THe ceremony itself happened in the grounds of Star Castle in the gorgeous conservatory underneath the grape vine growing through the side of the building, which is seriously such an amazing sight. With some extremely emotional moments captured, including a tear being shed as Rebecca walked down the aisle!
We travelled by vintage wedding car (I think the only one on the island!) to the gorgeous Porthcressa beach just down the hill from Star Castle for a few snaps before heading over to Juliets Gardens. Here are a few frames from the day, I’d love to know what you thought about this amazing day.
