Ben & Chloe’s Elopement by the sea
Treseren Wedding Photographer
Chloe and Ben’s wedding at Treseren was one of those days that stays with you, it was just such a beautiful day from start to finish. Small, quiet, full of meaning, and exactly what any wedding should feel like. I love elopements and this is a real reason why. Just twenty people including the two of them, and every single one mattered.
They both got ready together (Something I love and 100% recommend FYI!) in the master suite at Treseren,. Getting ready together really sets the tone for the day, I think. Breaking conventions and norms for the better! No separate rooms, no nerves hidden away. Hair and makeup started early, flowers arrived, the cake turned up, and everything slowly came together in one shared space. It felt calm and very exciting.
The ceremony took place under the gorgeous walnut tree, and on the day the weather managed to play its part perfectly – we got super lucky and it stayed dry. Everyone gathered, phones were kept away just like Chloe and Ben wanted, and the focus stayed exactly where it should be, on the two of them doing their thing. That’s whats so great about elopement wedding photography in Cornwall, it’s really all about the love!
They walked down the aisle together. That alone said so much about who they are. No big entrances, no build up. Just the two of them choosing to walk into their marriage side by side. It was such a lovely thing to witness. They tied a knot together during the ceremony. Simple, meaningful, and very them. It fitted the whole day perfectly. When the ceremony ended, confetti flew, people hugged, and you could feel the love. After drinks and canapés at Treseren, we headed off to Holywell Bay for photos. Just Chloe, Ben and me. Ten minutes in the car and suddenly it felt like we were in a completely different world. Big open beach, soft light, and loads of space to just wander. They didn’t want anything stiff or posed, so we kept it easy and relaxed. Walking, chatting, stopping when something the light looked good. It was atmospheric and blowy and it shows in the photos. I LOVE changing light, it brings something so good to the photos, changing with every frame. They were so natural together. Quiet moments, big smiles, lots of closeness. These are some of my favourite kind of photos because nothing is forced and everything feels real.
Knowing they were getting married just before heading off to start a new life in Australia made it even more special. It really did feel like the beginning of something huge for them. Not just a wedding day, but the start of a whole new chapter! There wasn’t a big formal structure to the evening.. No pressure for speeches, no set first dance. Just people being together, celebrating..
Elopements like this remind me why I love what I do. It’s not about crowds or big timelines. It’s about two people choosing each other and doing it in a way that feels right for them. Chloe and Ben’s day was exactly that. Quiet, personal, and genuinely lovely to photograph. Chloe and Ben, thank you so much for having me along. Your wedding at Treseren was beautiful, and what an amazing way to begin your next adventure in Australia!
