I’ve got a lovely little wedding to share with you all today at Tredudwell Manor, which if you’ve read many other blog posts on my website, I’ve harped on about a lot because it’s one of my favourite wedding venues in Cornwall. This is not an easy crown to put on any venue as there are just so many great ones in Cornwall and Devon however Tredudwell just has an amazing presence about it, and just always seems to organise the most amazing weddings that are so much fun! That and the venue is completely stunning does help just a little bit!!

Sarah and Matt are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. When I walked in, in the morning I got such friendly greetings, that they set the tone of the day really early on and I knew it was going to be something special and that these two were going to have the best day. One of my favourite things to do in the morning of the wedding is to have a little look around the venue, this is something I do even if assure the venue a hundred times like I have at Tredudwell Manor. Things change a lot and I am always looking for new opportunities for different photos for my couples, so that I’m not just producing the same photos day in day out with different couples. When you walk into to Tredudwell Manor you also get to see the table set up and usually all the beautiful flowers have arrived, so you can get the feel of the day and the vibe of the photographs very early on.

Sarah and Matt had their ceremony under the arbour and the lovely grounds at Tredudwell Manor. Their whole ceremony and their vows were very beautiful and I think everyone can feel the love emanating from these two. You could just see how happy they were to be married and it completely shows in the photos. It was a beautiful hazy sunny summers day (say that five times fast!) which made for some awesome light when it came to take a few couples photos of the two of them.

I never want to do lots of awkward posing of my couples, as my whole approach is around documentary wedding photography and no one really needs to have those awkward posing moment on their wedding day. So we just took a little walk down to the cliffs overlooking the sea and I really did was just let Sarah and Matt have a few moments alone and just do their thing. There’s no direction I needed to give them and this is what it’s all about just photographing the two of them in their post-wedding ceremony bliss! So bloody lovely to see!!

Now I always tend to end up with a favourite part of each wedding day and Sarah Matt’s wedding had so many amazing parts to it, however I definitely think that a strong contender for my favourite part of the day was just as everyone was going to sit down for food. Matt side of the family were Jewish and as such they wanted to include some Jewish traditions as part of their big day. Now if you’ve never seen a Jewish wedding before, they are very fun. Lots and lots of high energy, high tempo dancing. Lots of circling and general cheering and everyone going absolutely crazy. They even picked Matt and Sarah up and started throwing them around, these are probably my favourite photos from the whole wedding!!  It is honestly so much fun to just watch, let alone photograph. I honestly at times didn’t know where to point the camera. It was a complete feast for the eyes there was just so much going on and so quickly!!

After all the dancing so many beautiful speeches and so many lovely tender moments with people in tears and crying with laughter all at the same time. As I think was expected from the earlier Jewish dancing, after Sarah and Mark had done their first dance, everyone absolutely flooded the dancefloor with some super wild moves! If you can believe it!!

I say it a lot, but every year I realise it more and more that I am so incredibly lucky that so many people picked me to be their wedding photographer in Cornwall. It actually blows my mind every time I get to the end of the year and start collating these blog posts and going through all this year’s lovely weddings reading all the kind kind things that couples have said about me and it simply blows my mind that so many people put their trust in me every year to photograph the biggest day of their life. It’s just such an honour and something I never want to take for granted.
