Higher Eggbeer Farm Wedding Photography
Sorry it’s taken us so long! We just wanted to thank you for the sensational photos of our wedding day! They are everything we hoped for and so much more – they have captured the day perfectly.
We were initially so apprehensive about wedding photos, as we can often be a bit awkward behind a camera, but your style of photography is simply amazing. Thank you for capturing every part of our day, making us feel as though we are re living it, we are over the moon with them (and understand why you were so keen to get the sunset in!).
So thank you again, for being a part of our wedding day and for being so relaxed throughout the day! You’ve given us beautiful photos of the best day of our lives…so one last thank you!
Amy and James
I repeat myself time and time again doing these mini write up’s, but I honestly am so so incredibly lucky to be asked to photograph weddings like these! It is such a pleasure and a complete honour!! I love this job and I really do not take it for granted that so so many wonderful people ask me to take photos of them on the best day of their lives!
I met with Amy and James quite a while before their big day to just chat through everything and see how the day planning was going. I knew from the outset that the day was gonna be bloody excellent. These guys wanted a super chilled and laid-back day with their family and friends around them, which is always such an amazing plan for the day, it’s always great to plan your day around what you love the most and buck tradition!
This was my first time photographing as a Higher Eggbeer Farm wedding Photographer, which was a complete honour. I love getting to shoot so many new venues every year as a wedding photographer devon and Higher Eggbeer Farm is honestly such a little gem! It’s tucked away in Devon and is such a cool and super unique venue – I honestly don’t think there is much else out there like it. The barn you have your food in is super old, completely unique and is entirely candlelit and honestly one of the most individual for this alone!
Everyone got ready on site – in the beautiful farmhouse. Meaning I could flit around the venue grabbing photos of all the getting ready prep and all of the excitement and nerves building in the morning around the day. I love this moment of the day, you can see how everyone is really feeling and how much it means to them. That feeling of excitement is honestly incredible, everyone just so excited to see Amy and James get married.
Amy and James are just the nicest of people and are 100% completely in love. Something that absolutely shows in all of the photos. I spend my whole day at every wedding looking for little reactions and moments of love between people but honestly, it wasn’t all that hard to find here! The look on Amy’s face as she was coming down the aisle literally says it all. Just so much love!!
Amy and James didn’t want too much fuss when it came to their photos, but even still we managed to get some time out of the day to grab some pictures of the two of them alone. I think this is honestly such an important part of the day – it’s the only time you’ll manage to get alone on the wedding day (apart from me tagging along to grab some candid photos!!), so you have to soak it up.
Food was followed by some fantastic speeches which left the room in fits of laughter, nothing beats good speeches! After speeches, I managed to find the tiniest bit of sunset in what was a slightly overcast day. The sun literally burst out at the last moment from under the clouds and I managed to grab Amy and James at the last minute to get some sunset shots. It was that last minute, the only area I could get was on top of a gateway / mound below a huge tree! They were such a good sport and completely indulged me when I asked them to climb up for a few snaps. They didn’t even hesitate for a second!! Super glad we managed to get these shots, they sum up the day so well.
A + J put on one hell of a party and the evening back inside the barn was great. From the first dance right through, everyone was up on the dancefloor and giving it one hell of an effort! I really love these evening photos, there was just so much going on, it was epic!!
