Fowey Wedding Photography
Dan is THE BEST photographer to capture your day! He is super friendly, calm, relaxed and manages to capture wonderful photos without you even realising! (silent camera & skill! 👌) We really wanted an unobtrusive photographer to capture our day without making it into a photo shoot or putting us in lovey dovey/cheesy poses, as that just isn’t us! Dan thank you for doing such an incredible job, the photos of our day are more wonderful than words can describe & are memories we will cherish for years to come! Thank you so much
I’m sharing a bit of a treat here for you today! Complete gem of a wedding and Amelia and Tom are just some of the most amazing and super nicer people that you could meet! I was extremely excited to get stuck into this day and photograph it after an initial COVID postponement and the fear of postponing again (God I don’t miss those times!!!).
The day started with everyone getting ready in different houses in Golant. Which is perfect as it meant I could walk between Amelia and the girls and Tom and the boys as they got ready. Tom having grown up in Golant was getting ready at his mother’s place whereas Amelia had an amazing house at the top of the hill overlooking the estuary with the most gorgeous views.
Amelia and Tom got married nearby in St Sampsons Parish Church in Golant. Which is an incredibly pretty church with an awesome outlook over the river and one of the prettiest in the Fowey area if not Cornwall. After the church, we took a little journey around Golant which has so many awesome photo opportunities – it was nice to take that time out to make sure Amelia and Tom had 2 minutes alone!
We then head back into town for a fabulous marquee wedding in fabulous Golant. They set the marquee up in the centre of Golant right by the water. You literally could not have a more picturesque view if you tried. There is something just so incredibly fun about having a proper village wedding. There aren’t that many of them anymore – a strange trend as I used to do lots when I started out!
Tom’s best man, who happened to be his brother, cracked out probably one of the best speeches I think I have ever heard, but the biggest highlight of the speech was when he picked up his guitar and sang a song he had written for his brother, and it was honestly one of the best things ever! Incredibly funny and amazing lyrics! Literally, everyone erupted afterwards, it was absolutely genius!
The evening consisted of a super fun band, who got everyone up on their feet and dancing – which I always find is the measure of a good band! I love being a Fowey Wedding Photographer. I’ve shot at tons of venues nearby such as Fowey Hall and Fowey Harbour hotel. If you’d like to see more!
