HOLLY & GEORGE – KINGSTON ESTATE
Totnes Wedding Photographer
Holly and George’s wedding at Kingston Estate was honestly such a lovely day to be part of! So much fun, super calm, family & friend focused, and full of such gorgeous moments to photgraph from start to finish. Bit of a photographers dream really!!
The morning started at Kingston House with Holly getting ready alongside her bridesmaids. Hair and makeup began early and by the time I arrived there was already a good buzz in the room. Dresses were hanging up, people were coming and going, and Holly was clearly excited about what was ahead.!!
George was getting ready over at Bramley Barn with his groomsmen. It was great to just grab some candid photos of them getting ready together, which suited the morning perfectly. Jackets going on, ties being sorted, and a lot of easy conversation. Nothing forced and nothing staged, which is exactly how they wanted it.
The ceremony took place in the Walled Garden at Kingston Estate and it couldn’t have been a better setting. It’s just such a special and gorgeous place to get married, I really wanted the house and gardens to shine in the photos. When Holly walked in, George’s reaction said everything. One of those moments you don’t need to dress up with words because it’s all there in the photos. Once the ceremony was done and they were legally married, we head straight into confetti and cocktail hour outside Kingston House and it’s incredibly gardens! Such a cool setting honestly!
Afterwards we took a stroll around the estate for photos, using as much greenery and the gorgeous backdrops as possible just like they’d hoped. Kingston has so many good spots that it made choosing where to go easy. Holly and George didn’t want anything too posed or gimmicky, so we kept things simple. Walking, chatting, stopping when it felt right. Natural, relaxed, and very them. We followed this with some group photos – it’s sucha controversial topic with photographers, but I think they are SO imporatant! There were some especially lovely moments with parents, grandparents and siblings, and it was clear how important family is to both of them.
Speeches took place in the Rose Garden before the wedding breakfast. They were full of warmth, a lot of laughter, and plenty of stories. You could really feel how loved Holly and George are by the people around them.
Later on, guests headed back to the Walled Garden for cocktail hour before moving into the Rose Garden for the evening. The whole place had such a good feel and I knew it was gonna be a sick party!! The first dance kicked off the evening and from there the dance floor was super busy. Just the most brilliant way to end a really enjoyable day.
What stood out most about Holly and George is how much they value the people around them. They wanted their day to feel real and relaxed, and that’s exactly how it felt. No pressure to perform, no forced moments, just a wedding that suited them perfectly. Holly and George, thank you SO SO much for having me along, it was such a pleasure to be sucha tiny part of your day! Your wedding at Kingston Estate was a joy to photograph and such a lovely day to be part of!
