Wanna talk weddings with me?
Something I love to be judged on is the quality of my wet weather wedding photos! It’s not something many people really talk about much, but it’s a firm and very real reality for any wedding in Cornwall or when I’m working as a devon wedding photographer – this year alone it seemed to be more common than ever!
Jo and Brad got married in St Ives and as it happens, it rained! It rained a lot! It was super unlucky, and Jo and Brad really didn’t want it to affect their day at all. But it was raining to hard to spend too much time out in the rain – you can’t tell from the photos, but it is really coming down! (I’m shooting the whole time one handed with my other hand holding a huge umbrella over myself, it’s an artform!!!).
I made a quick plan to minimise time in the rain. Made sure they had an umbrella to move from location to location. Planned the photos to include the beach style shots they wanted without having to get on the very wet waterlogged beach. Worked quickly, at and in between locations to minimise the chance of getting soaked! Shot the photos bright and colourful. Just because it’s raining doesn’t make the day dark and gloomy – what is dark about weddings!!
